IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV: UK setup guide (2026)

Samsung TVs run their own system, Tizen, so you can't install Android apps like TiviMate on them. You can still watch IPTV without any extra box, using one of the Tizen players below. This Samsung TV IPTV guide shows which apps work, how to add your WaveCastUK playlist and when a Firestick is the better option.

Samsung TV IPTV: quick answer

Apps: IBO Player, SmartOne IPTV or SET IPTV from the Samsung app store.
Setup: note the MAC address the app shows, then add your M3U link on the app's website from your phone or computer.

Samsung TVs use Tizen IPTV players such as IBO Player.

02Samsung TV IPTV setup, step by step

Press Home, open Apps and search for your chosen player.
Install and open it. Write down the MAC address (and device key, if shown).
On your phone or computer, open the app's official website and its playlist upload page.
Enter the MAC address and paste the M3U link from your WaveCastUK welcome email.
Restart the app on the TV to load channels, films and series.

03When a Firestick is better

On Samsung models more than five or six years old, or if you want a full TV guide and recording, a Fire TV Stick 4K plugged into HDMI usually gives a smoother experience with TiviMate. See IPTV on Firestick.

04Common problems

"No playlist"

The playlist went to a different MAC. Samsung TVs have one MAC for Wi-Fi and another for Ethernet, so add it again if you switched connection.

Freezing in the evening

Usually Wi-Fi or broadband congestion at peak time. See fix IPTV buffering.
