WaveIPTV on a MAG box: portal setup guide for the UK (2026)
MAG boxes (made by Infomir) are dedicated IPTV set-top boxes: no apps to install, just a portal address and you're watching. They're popular with people who want something that behaves like a traditional TV box. MAG box IPTV setup works differently from apps, because the box is identified by its MAC address rather than a username and password.
MAG box IPTV: quick answer
- Send us your MAG box's MAC address (on the sticker under the box, starting 00:1A:79).
- We register it and send you a portal URL.
- Enter the portal URL in Settings > Servers > Portals, save and restart the box.
01How MAG box IPTV works
Instead of logging in, a MAG box connects to a portal. The portal recognises your box by its MAC address and loads your channels, films and TV guide. That's why we need your MAC address before you start; you won't need to type a username or password on the box.
02MAG box IPTV setup, step by step
- Connect the box to your TV with HDMI and to your router with an Ethernet cable if possible.
- Find the MAC address on the sticker under the box (or in Settings > Device info) and send it to us.
- On the box, open Settings > System settings > Servers > Portals.
- Enter a name (for example "WaveCastUK") in Portal 1 name and the portal URL we send you in Portal 1 URL.
- Save, go back and choose Restart portal. Your channels will load.

04Common MAG errors
- "STB blocked" or "Authentication failed": the MAC address isn't registered yet, or was typed wrongly. Check it with us.
- Stuck on "Loading portal": check the portal URL, restart the box and router, and use Ethernet.
